Close to the west banks of River Hooghly is located the
township of Shobha Bazaar. The region is about 6 kms from the city
center which is taken to be Chandni Chowk. Kolkata metro, the city's
prime subway runs through the region. Jatindra Mohan Avenue that
runs parallel to the subway links the township with the southern
most parts of the city. The avenue and the metro connects Shoba
Bazar with Bag Bazar in the north and Machu Bazar in the south.
Rajendra Lal Mullick Bazar is the renowned shopping arcade in
Shobha Bazar. The shopping arcade is often crowded by the people.
Besides popular bazar the region marks a good number of small
markets that merchandise different household items. Lohia Marti Seva
Sadan is one more attraction in the region. The area of Shobha Bazar
is enriched with many schools and educational institutes. Scottish
Church College located in the vicinity of Shobha Bazar is equally
famous.

Bus services and subway are the chief service providers in the
township of Shobha Bazar. The most preferred way to reach the Shobha
Bazar is via subway with the junction of railway and subway present
at the Dum Dum Terminal.
